No. Net|Depict products employ proven SNMP data collection techniques that have virtually zero impact on network resources and scales to accommodate any size network.

Do Net|Depict products present any security risks?
No. Net|Depict products only require ready-only SNMP access to safely interact with network devices. Net|Depict products maintain full network interaction audit trails while complying with all existing security measures.

Does Net|Depict work with all network devices?
Yes, Net|Depict products can depict any SNMP compliant devices (i.e. routers, switches, servers).

Does Net|Depict need to be integrated with other network management systems?
No. Net|Depict products simply require a list of network segments along with their associated access information (i.e. SNMP community read-only string, IP addresses, subnets, etc). Net|Depict then automatically discovers, discerns and depicts networks selected for drawing.

Does network hardware need to be deployed?
No. Net|Depict products support implementations on everything from a Laptop PC to high powered servers depending on the scale of deployment. No additional network hardware is required.

Does software need to be installed on network devices (i.e. routers, switches)?
No. Net|Depict products require no changes to any network devices or their configurations.

Can Net|Depict produced drawings be opened and edited in Visio?
Yes. Net|Depict products produce and export Visio drawing (.vsd files).

How accurate are Net|Depict produced Visio drawings?
Net|Depict produced Visio drawings are 100% accurate because Net|Depict products rely on the same information set (i.e. dynamic neighbor relationships, interface connectivity, configurations) leveraged by the network itself to function, to produce Visio drawings. If the resulting network Visio drawing differs from expectation then so too must the network itself.

Do I need to pay more for Net|Depict as my network grows or devices are upgraded?
No. Net|Depict product licenses are not node–oriented like most other network management tools. Our products are licensed for unlimited nodes, however we do recommend practical device limits to preserve a baseline of performance for specific product offerings. The Net|Depict product family scales performance attributes (i.e. database, architecture, device management utilities) to align product performance with network size and complexity.
